The 2026 Norwegian Open Hickory Championship

The Norwegian Hickorygolf Society (NHGS) and Larvik Golf Club welcome Norwegian and international hickory players to play at Larvik GC on Saturday, 13 June.

The Championships will be played in four classes.

• The 2026 Norwegian Open Hickory Championship

  • Ladies – 18 holes stroke play, Maximum Score (Rule 21.2), par +5, gross competition

  • Gentlemen – 18 holes stroke play, Maximum Score (Rule 21.2), par +5, gross competition

• The 2026 Norwegian Hickory Open

  • Ladies – 18 holes stroke play, Maximum Score (Rule 21.2), par +5, handicap competition with 140 % handicap allowance

  • Gentlemen – 18 holes stroke play, Maximum Score (Rule 21.2), par +5, handicap competition with 140 % handicap allowance

Program 

Friday 12th

• Practice
  Tee times for practice rounds have been reserved for Friday, June 12, between 1:50 PM and 2:10 PM.
  Please book directly with the Tournament Director at Larvik GK (email - in the link) or by calling +47 907 41 120 no later than Wednesday, June 3.
  The greenfee for practice rounds depends on which day the round is played.

• Welcome Dinner at 7:00 PM - To confirm our reservation at this historic gem, we need to know how many will be joining us.
  The dinner will be held at the seaside hotel Nevlunghavn Guesthouse – a place with a unique golf history. In the late 1920s, this hotel was home to one of Norway’s very first golf courses. Although the course is long gone, there has rarely been a more fitting place to gather hickory enthusiasts! Read more and secure your place at the table.

Saturday 13th

• 1100  - Registration in the Pro Shop

• 1200  -  Start of the tournament from hole 1, 18 holes stroke play 

• The awards Ceremony
  The awards ceremony will take place in the clubhouse as soon as all players have finished their rounds.
  Food will be available from the club’s menu at the same time. Please pre-order at the first tee when starting your round.

Saturday 13th - Annual Meeting in the Norwegian Hickory Golf Society

• 1000 – NHGS will hold its 2026 Annual General Meeting in conjunction with the Norwegian Open Hickory Championship at Larvik GK. Information about the AGM – in Norwegian

To sign up for the competitions (individually), please use the competition entry link in GolfBox.
If you are unable to submit your entry via GolfBox, please email hallo@hickorygolf.no with all your contact information no later than 9 June at noon.

The standard entry fee for the Championships is NOK 850, including a discounted greenfee rate. 

A discounted rate of NOK 650 is available* for members of the Norwegian Hickory Golf Society, equivalent international organisations, or recognised golf historical societies.
Members of LGK (non-members of the Norwegian Hickory Golf Society) are eligible for a special rate of NOK 350.

After registration for the championships, players will receive payment information via email from NHGS. The entry fee must be paid by Wednesday, June 10th. If you withdraw from the tournament after the registration deadline has passed, you must pay the entry fee.

*Participation in the Championship requires membership in the NHGS, an equivalent international hickory organisation, or a national golf historical society.
Non-members will be enrolled in the NHGS for 2026 (NOK 200). Payment instructions for both the entry fee and membership will be sent via email to those who apply.
